My Inner Strength

About the Book

Where do you turn for strength when the troubles of this world become too much to bear? Do you have one person you can always depend on? Do you have enough faith to know that God will pull you through?  Do you have hope for a brighter tomorrow? What is the source of your inner strength?
Through her forty-six inspirational poems in this collection, Amy Santi Bull hopes to lead you on a journey of discovering your own inner strength. First, her poems of faith will renew your faith in God, yourself, and others. Then, her poems of hope will make your heart soar with the knowledge that God is truly always by your side. Her vivid descriptions and creative verses evoke powerful images as you read each of her poems.
Just like in her first book, Believe, each poem in My Inner Strength has five corresponding Bible verses. These verses are listed in a reference section following the last of her poems in this book. They show that from the dawn of time man has survived all of life's pitfalls by placing his faith and hope in the Lord.
No matter what path your life is on, it's never too late to turn to the Lord. Let Amy's poetry in My Inner Strength start leading you on your way to finding your own inner strength through faith and hope in the Lord.

My inner strength comes from the Lord.

It’s part of my Christian life’s greatest reward.

For without having Christ come into my life,

It would have been full of more troubles and strife.

Of course my life will still have pitfalls to face,

But I know I can pull through with the Lord’s grace.

I can face each situation without fear,

Knowing my Lord Jesus Christ is always near.

Satan continues to launch many attacks,

But the Lord gives me the strength my body lacks.

I can feel His presence every time I pray,

Surrounding me and keeping evil away.

Sure, I’ve hit bottom and wanted to give up,

Then I recall His promise through bread and cup.

For His body was broken and His blood shed,

As payment for Adam’s sin marked on my head.

He then rose and ascended up to heaven,

Promising that I would be with Him again.

So, knowing that, I will go to any length

To show all that the Lord is my inner strength.

Isaiah 12:2

Psalm 112: 7

Deuteronomy 33:27

I have known Amy Bull for some time as a patient. I have watched her over the last four years as she has worked through her injury and its consequences. She has managed to develop a true inner strength, which is an inspiration to my other patients, my staff and other physicians who have come in contact with Amy. It is my hope that readers will derive some strength from the words found within the pages and they are remembered in times of crisis in dealing with life’s hardships.

About the Book

Do you believe in angels?  Can having faith really change your life?  Is hope still alive in today's chaotic world?  Does God truly love us?  You may find the answers to these questions and other situations in your life through the inspirational poetry in this book.  "Believe" takes you on a journey of vivid imagery through poetry to enrich, inspire, and minister to your soul.  After all, poetry paints with words the same way an artist does with oils, creating images on blank paper.  For me, writing these poems helped to ward off self-pity following an auto accident that left me confined to a wheelchair paralyzed from the waist down, secluded for a time.  Now, through the poetry in this book, I hope to show readers from teens through seniors the healing power of faith.  Included with each poem are five Bible references that coincide with the meaning of that poem.  These verses are meant to show the reader that faith, hope, and love is part of God's promises throughout time, and to bring each one to a close relationship with Him.  So sit back, relax, and let your soul lead you on a wonderful journey as you read "Believe".

About the Author

Amy has always had a love for writing. Even as a child her play revolved around the stories she would create. In high school, Amy eagerly dove into every creative writing course offered, and wrote poetry regularly. She had her first and second publication of individual poems during those years. She later earned a degree from The Institute of Children’s Literature wanting to write children’s picture books along with her poetry. Over the years, Amy has had individual poems win contests and earn publication, with her first book Believe being published in 2004.

Since the release of Believe Amy has devoted her time to ministering to others through her writing and the speaking engagements that have stemmed from it. She has shared her moving testimony with people at local churches and other venues showing them that through faith and hope you can make it over any hurdle life throws your way. You can read Amy’s testimony at her website www.amybull.com.

In January 2005 Amy shared part of her story on the television show Living Epistles. It was aired on the TCT network and seen around the world.

Amy lives in North Tonawanda, NY with her husband Bill. They have been married for thirty years. They have three children and four grandchildren.

Amy plans to continue with her writing and speaking career, showing others that even being paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair as a result of an automobile accident won’t keep her from following the ministry the Lord has given her.

Have you ever doubted God's presence in your life?
Do you blame Him for all your days filled with strife?
If so, there is a way for you to get a fresh start.
Just close your eyes and ears and believe with your heart.
For the Lord is always there when you drift away,
Just waiting for you to take the time to pray.
He would never leave you completely on your own.
Through His Son's death on the cross, this He has shown.
For children to believe is such an easy thing,
Because they are still free of what the world can bring.
As adults we deal too often in cold, hard facts,
And stray away from God down long lonely tracks.
Don't keep living your life constantly debating,
Because God is always there, patiently waiting.
Waiting for you to simply call out His name,
And give Him all your struggles, burdens, and pain.
So starting today close your eyes and perceive,
Give it all up to the Lord and just believe.

John 20:29
Acts 16:30-31

When the sky is dark and thunder booms,
When danger abounds and trouble looms,
When disaster is all your life brings,
You'll find refuge under angels' wings.

When the home built of love turns to hate,
When apologies come much too late,
When you give up and pack all your things,
You'll find shelter under angels' wings.

When reaching out to the Lord above,
When praying for His unending love,
When praise for His name from your heart springs,
You'll find peace under angels' wings.

When life's rat race has come to an end,
When old age makes joints hard to bend,
When family sales are empty strings,
You'll find comfort under angels' wings.

When the Lord keeps you safe in His care,
When His name is called from everywhere,
When His praises are what this world sings,
You'll find heaven under angels' wings.
